One of the easiest ways to learn and perfect your undulations and bodywaves is to bring them down to the floor. By doing a dynamic bridge pose like the one you do in your yoga class you will inrease your flexibility and strengthen your abdomen and thighs all while creating that snake wave up and down your spine.
1. Lie on your back with feet flat on the floor and palms pressing down beside your hips. Your Knees should be pointing straight up, neither in nor out
2. Draw your belly button in and curl your tailbone under. Press into your heels and palms as you peel your spine off the floor one vertabra at a time. End the movement when you have reached the vertabra in between your shoulder blades. Make sure you are not jamming your chin into your chest. This is your bodywave.
3. Roll down your spine slowly to end in your start position. This is your undulation.
